The 5-step Reverse Mortgage process

1. Call our Reverse Mortgage advisors at 1-800-562-6755 or submit the form on the "Get Started" page.
Our Reverse Mortgage advisors explain the products, identify your needs, answer any questions you may have, and estimate how much money you may be able to borrow. Your loan advisor will be able to help you make an educated decision about whether or not a Reverse Mortgage is right for your needs.

2. Independent counseling
If you decide that a Reverse Mortgage is right for you, your advisor will set up a FREE independent counseling session. This session is required by the government to make sure all of your questions have been answered by someone who is completely objective. The goal is to make sure you understand the product completely before making your decision.

3. Follow-up phone meeting
When you decide to go ahead with the Reverse Mortgage, your loan advisor will set up a telephone meeting. During that meeting the advisor will send you a package of loan documentation. Once you receive that package, your loan advisor will guide you through the documents required explaining exactly how to fill them out. They'll also let you know which documents you need to supply.

4. A home appraisal will be ordered for you.
This will determine your home’s value and is standard procedure. Title work will be ordered as well, then the application will be underwritten for approval.

5. Close the loan.
Final paperwork is signed at the closing. You decide how you want to receive your money at that time.
